During the 13th and 14th centuries a small Jewish community lived in Carpentras (a small town in Provence). At the Early 2000's, after moving the archives to Paris, musical prayers and songs such as: Shaarey Ratzon, Tzor mishelo, Had Gadyia etc. were found. These songs and prayers were used by the community from those days.

Alain Huet French with Algerian origins musician, restored the original music that was found, while trying to maintain its originality.
After a long and profound research, Nekouda Ensemble was founded. The Ensemble plays ancient instruments and combines typical Middle Eastern instruments, while preserving the original musical spirit.

The most noticeable in the repertoire of instruments is the Hardy Gardi (Rare string instrument) alongside with the bagpipe, tambourine and different percussions which completes the mystic experience, hovering over the album.

This creation is full of enthusiasm and joy, and allows a glimpse to the "Pope's Jews" community in Provence - an ancient culture where Jews and Christians shared common interests. This is the first cooperation between Magda and France which was supported by Haifa - Nazareth French Cultural center.
