Makondo quintet is a fresh new voice on the international world music/jazz scene.
Makondo is assembled by a supergroup of five talented Israeli musicians playing original music while combining their own personal culture with the regional cultures surrounding them.
The music of Makondo is inspired by African, Arabic, Balkan, Latin and Jazz music.
Makondo's unique sound is created, among other elements, by using a mixture of western and eastern instruments: saxophone, trombone, flute, double bass, oud, classic guitar, bansouri flute, sea shells, kalimba, rik, frame drum, etc.
Makondo music seeks out new interactions and boundaries between Mediterranean compositions and jazz, from which it takes off to create its exiting exceptional sound and atmosphere.
