Yair Dalal is a pioneer and a prominent musician of Ethnic music in Israel.
Being also an international performing artist, he shared the stage with many well known World music performers on Womad and elsewhere. Whenever he is on one of his many world tours, people regard him as "a musical ambassador" who brings Israel and its Arab neighbors closer.
Dalal is also one of Magda's major artists with 7 albums on the label. 
His rich recording career found him on a solo Oud album or celebrating with Azazme - the Bedwin tribe of the Negev, documenting the Judeo-Irakian tradition and marvelously "reconstructing" the famous Perfume Road.  
In Band Orient, Dalal's new album, he leads a new quartet, playing his new compositions filled with improvisation. There are many contrasts in the music; the combination of the pure and ancient Oud sounds along with the modern sound of the EWI (Electric Wind Instrument). There is also a meeting between Jazz and Dalal's unique musical style. In his own words Dalal refers to it: "between Jazz and the Tigris River, one can hear the desert's song".
