Woodwinds player and composer Ofer Peled is a leading figure in the Israeli jazz and world music scene. After playing with Israeli Jazz legends Avi Lebovich (Chick Corea, Bootsy Collins) and Grammy nominated percussionist Gilad Dobrecky (Al De Meola), as well as triple platinum selling artists Shalom Hanoch and Yehudit Ravitz, Ofer founded his own solo project ARARAT, where he melds together Gypsy-Balkan, Turkish and African music, side by side with a Jazzy unrestricted approach, and shows his extraordinary skills on a variety of woodwind instruments.
The CD ARARAT is featuring the new rising talent Ravid Kahalani (Yemen Blues) on a traditional Jewish Yemenite song "Sapari Tama", as well as on a new original song by Ravid and Ofer "Cape of good hope".
The tune "Comme Ci Cimme Ca" is dedicated to the memorial of the great Israeli-Bulgarian musician Stu Hacohen who was one of Ofer's teachers and the one who revealed to him the magic of Balkan music. This tune is featuring Ofer's playing on the Bulgarian Kavall.
